Development of Simulator Pedagogy in Traffic Teacher Training

The goal of the project is to enhance simulation-based teaching methods in traffic teacher training. This project is being carried out through the collaboration of two training providers and a simulation-focused expert.

Project Duration

September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2027 (24 months)

Project Objectives

  • Create a new teaching model that incorporates simulators in the training of traffic teachers.
  • Examine and compare the current practices of simulator teaching in Finland and Norway.
  • Develop the model collaboratively with experts and teachers through workshops and online meetings.
  • Test the model in practice in teacher training sessions in Finland and Norway.
  • Collect feedback and improve the model based on it.
  • Share the results in seminars and publications to allow others to benefit from the model.

  • Simulation Wizard – Finnish expert in simulator solutions
  • Nord University (Norway) – Pedagogical and research partner

Häme University of Applied Sciences
HAMK is responsible for project administration, reporting, and part of the implementation. It participates in expert visits, model development, and piloting.

The company organizes a simulator pedagogy demonstration event in Finland, participates in model development and evaluation, and acts as an active partner in piloting.

Nord University
The Norwegian university contributes to the development, piloting, and dissemination of the pedagogical model.
