Forestry

Fresh air and nature – that is what work in forestry is all about. In this line of work your handprint can be seen even after many generations.

The application periods to our trainings and qualifications are updated on our Finnish web page. Our initial vocational qualification is applicable through the joint application system.

Initial vocational qualification in forestry

Our initial vocational qualifications are designed for those who don’t yet have training or experience in the field. You can apply for initial vocational qualifications through the joint application system.

Our initial vocational qualification in forestry will provide you with various skills in silviculture and tree felling in diverse environments. After your studies you can work in forest service companies as an arboriculturist or as an independent entrepreneur in cooperation with others.

Qualification units

With us you can study single courses of forestry called units. Studying units are a good way to improve your skills and a way to find a competence area best suited for you. If this sparks an interest to study more, you can apply for the complete qualification.

At the moment, the available units are free. Studies include free training, accommodation and meals. Our options are:

Harvesting services

This is a free course where you will learn professional practices of harvesting. It is also apt for beginners that are interested in forestry. You do not need prior experience in handling a chainsaw, we will teach you.

Forest management services

This is a free course with a possibility to quickly get employed as a seasonal worker. The work includes reforestation, seedling care as well as forest management with a clearing saw.
